My works are inspired by experiences of movement, such as walking, moving homes, and traveling, reflecting my deep connection with everyday objects, the natural environment, and urban spaces.
Growing up on the mountainous and coastal eastern side of Taiwan, I moved homes multiple times during my childhood and traveled abroad alone. The way I perceive space and time—through observing, forming connections, and memories in different places—continues to inspire me.
My creation process involves intuition and an unfinished state. I have a preference for drawing, sketching, and collage on paper. I found that the physical properties, relationships between materials and producing steps add a metaphorical layer to the images. In my works, you can see colors, textures, or shapes that interrelate among images; they are cut, pasted or recombined to form new meanings; and I make images as materials and then reuse them in the next piece.
In my creation and daily moments, I often become aware of my coexistence with many surrounding elements. Through my project, I explore these poetic and sensitive connections, feel that they ‘unfold’ and ‘extend’ me. This brings me a deep sense of peace, and I understand that perhaps the world is neutral, allowing us to embrace change, intermix, and uncertainty.
